Floral Care 101:
1. Carefully remove all packaging from flowers
2. Trim stems at a 45-degree angle with sharp knife or clippers. Cutting at an angle will result in a larger surface area from which flowers can drink.
3. Remove any leaves from stems that will be below waterline in vase
4. Arrange flowers in vase and display somewhere away from drafts, direct sunlight, heat sources – all these factors affect how long your flowers will last
5. Add floral food to prevent bacteria growth and provide flowers with nourishment. Sprite and sugar can be used in lieu of floral food.
6. Re-cut stems every 2-3 days, change water and add floral food
Tip: Since it is critical for flowers to take up water after they've been cut, it follows that they should be placed in warm rather than cold water.
